Ruben Neves superb strike gave Wolves a 2-1 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup third round – making it back-to-back defeats for the Premier League leaders.
Jurgen Klopp made nine changes to the XI that lost by the same scoreline to title rivals Manchester City last Thursday and they turned in a lethargic first-half display, trailing at the break to Raul Jimenez s opener.
Divock Origi found a fine equaliser but Portugal midfielder Neves raised the decibel levels significantly at Molineux with a decisive 55th-minute long ranger.
One of the players Klopp retained from the City defeat, Croatia centre-back Dejan Lovren, pulled up and had to be replaced in the sixth minute, meaning 16-year-old Dutch defender Ki-Jana Hoever became Liverpool s youngest player in FA Cup h…
Gareth Southgate has urged England to grasp the opportunity to put the Three Lions poor Euros knockout record behind them but does not feel the omens will have a negative impact on the team.
England have never won a Euros knockout match in 90 minutes, with four of those six games going to penalties – only one of those (v Spain, Euro 96) ended in a victory for the Three Lions.
It is a damning indictment of England s underachievement in the tournament throughout its history.
While Southgate believes his young team have a great chance to overcome such a poor record, he also feels the players should not feel any extra pressure because of it.
It s an incredible record really, Southgate told reporters on Monday. I think it s something we ve talked a lot abou…

As revealed by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in an interview published on the company’s official website, XDefiant has crossed 11 million players across all platforms since its release a little over a month ago. Prior reports had claimed that the game attracted over 8 million players in its laun…

Harry Kane put the visitors ahead in a first half at St Mary s Stadium that the visitors controlled, with Maya Yoshida also turning the ball against his own post and Christian Eriksen rattling the crossbar with a free-kick.
However, Spurs failed to live with an improved Southampton after the break and goals from Yan Valery and James Ward-Prowse condemned them to a third defeat in four Premier League games.
Pochettino, who served the first of a two-game touchline ban, struggled to understand his side s second-half display at the end of a week in which they secured a Champions League quarter-final spot at the e…
