Granada appoint Resino

Beleaguered Granada have turned to a familiar face in Abel Resino to try to lift them off the foot of the Liga table.

La Liga strugglers Granada have appointed Abel Resino as coach until the end of season in an attempt to turn their dismal fortunes around.

The club sit bottom of the Spanish top flight following a run of 15 league games without a win, and were beaten 2-0 at champions Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

Joaquin Caparros was removed from his coaching post last Friday and Granada have now turned to Resino as they seek to ensure survival.

Resino previously coached Granada in the second half of the 2011-12 season and helped save them from relegation after taking over in January 2012.

The former goalkeeper has enjoyed coaching stints with Atlet…

Klopp warns of Dortmund complacency

Jurgen Klopp has warned his Borussia Dortmund players against complacency ahead of Friday s trip to Stuttgart.

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp was worried by the relief shown by some of his players during the 4-2 win over Mainz and has warned against complacency this week.

Klopp s side fought back 1-0 down to lead 2-1 but, after conceding an equaliser, needed two late goals to continue their recovery following a dismal first half to the season.

However, Klopp was worried by the relief his players showed after taking the lead for the first time and warned against it ahead of Friday s trip to Stuttgart.

It is okay to be happy. The problem is that everyone is so relieved. That is a huge difference because you stay relaxed, explained the Dortmund bos…

XDefiant Has Crossed 11 Million Players

There was no shortRussia Lottoage of skepticism surrounding XDefiant in the lead-up to its release, and as many expected, as far as its critical reception was concerned, Ubisoft’s free-to-play multiplayer shooter didn’t make much of a mark upon its May release. In spite of that, however, it seems like the game has got off to a solid start in terms of player numbers regardless.

As revealed by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in an interview published on the company’s official website, XDefiant has crossed 11 million players across all platforms since its release a little over a month ago. Prior reports had claimed that the game attracted over 8 million players in its laun…

Dumbfounded Pochettino slams Tottenham mentality after Southampton defeat

Mauricio Pochettino admits he is worried about Tottenham s future trophy credentials due to the mentality they showed in Saturday s 2-1 loss to Southampton.

Harry Kane put the visitors ahead in a first half at St Mary s Stadium that the visitors controlled, with Maya Yoshida also turning the ball against his own post and Christian Eriksen rattling the crossbar with a free-kick.

However, Spurs failed to live with an improved Southampton after the break and goals from Yan Valery and James Ward-Prowse condemned them to a third defeat in four Premier League games.

Pochettino, who served the first of a two-game touchline ban, struggled to understand his side s second-half display at the end of a week in which they secured a Champions League quarter-final spot at the e…

Payton suspended after Saints bounties scandal

New Orleans coach Sean Payton has been suspended for the coming NFL season after the Saints were revealed to be paying players illegal bounties.

The franchise s former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was also banned from the sport indefinitely for orchestrating the bounty system among the Saints defensive players, which saw them rewarded for injuring opponents over a three-year period between 2009-2011.

In addition, the Saints were fined US$500,000 and saw their second-round draft picks for 2012 and 2013 stripped.

Mourinho defends decision to bring on Fellaini

Jose Mourinho says he brought on Marouane Fellaini to counter Everton s direct style in the closing stages of their match at Goodison Park.

Fellaini came on against his former side in place of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 85th minute for his 100th United appearance since joining in 2013.

But it was a landmark outing to forget for the Belgium international, who promptly fouled Idrissa Gueye in the penalty area, with Leighton Baines scoring the resulting penalty as Everton claimed a 1-1 draw.

United therefore failed to preserve the lead given to them by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but Mourinho explained he was trying to ensure his side did hold out to secure all three points in bringing on Fellaini.

I thought you would know more about football than you do because …
